WTR’s Short Communication will publish the following types of articles:
- Empirical and conceptual research
- Short review/State-of-the-art review
- Discussion paper
- Field report
- Case study
- Current issues/trends in tourism and related industries
- Updates on ongoing research
- Discussion of future research needs
Submission Requirements
- To be eligible to submit manuscripts to WTR, authors need to be CTR affiliated researchers (including CTR Visiting Fellows). If submitting a co-authored manuscript, either a lead author or a corresponding author needs to be a CTR researcher.
- Authors who were invited by the Editorial Board are also eligible to submit their manuscripts.
Editorial Process
- All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by at least one reviewer who is appointed by the Editor-in-Chief to ensure the suitability and quality of the manuscripts.
Preparation of Manuscripts
- WTR only publishes articles in English. Please ensure that your manuscript is free of grammatical, spelling and other common errors. The journal accepts both British and American spellings, but the same spelling should be used consistently throughout the manuscript. Non-native English writers are recommended to have the language editing service before submission.
- Manuscripts should be between 1,500 and 2,500 words in length including the title, abstract (up to 150 words), keywords (up to five), main body, tables, figures, acknowledgement and references.
- Manuscripts should contain no more than five figures/tables.
- A short biography of each author (about 100 words) should also be provided. Biographies are excluded from the word count. Please include a photo of each author.
- Authors must follow the referencing style described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 7th edition).
- Manuscripts should use Times New Roman font and 12-point size with 1.5 line spacing. A single column layout should be used. Please use the template provided.
Submission of Manuscripts
- Manuscripts should be submitted in MS Word format. When submitting the manuscript, all the authors’ names, affiliations, and email addresses should be included on the cover page. The corresponding author should be marked with an asterisk.
- Manuscripts need to be uploaded and submitted via Google Form, or be emailed to CTR.
Note
- Submitted manuscripts should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. It is the responsibility of the authors to obtain permission to reproduce work previously published elsewhere.
- WTR is an open access, peer-reviewed journal published by Center for Tourism Research, Wakayama University (ISSN(Online) 2436-3839, ISSN(Print) 2436-892X). There are no publication fees for this journal. Previous volumes can be found on Wakayama University Academic Repository at: http://repository.center.wakayama-u.ac.jp/en/journal/24363839
- All accepted manuscripts will be published online with DOIs, but authors retain the copyright to their works.
- Questions regarding the journal should be directed to CTR.
